Background:This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooJNCgenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein catalyzes the conversion of 7 alpha-hydroJNC-4-cholesten-3-one into 7-alpha,12-alpha-dihydroJNC-4-cholesten-3-one. The balance between these two steroids determines the relative amounts of cholic acid and chenodeoJNCcholic acid both of which are secreted in the bile and affect the solubility of cholesterol. This gene is unique among the cytochrome P450 genes in that it is intronless. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (human liver carcinoma); Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with (CYP8B1) Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-14165R) at 1:400 overnight at 4°C, followed by operating according to SP Kit(Rabbit) (sp-0023) instructionsand DAB staining.
