Background:Seladin 1 is highly expressed in brain, adrenal tissues and adrenal tumours, where this enzyme catalyzes the reduction of the delta-24 double bond of sterol intermediates such as desmosterol, during cholesterol biosynthesis. In addition, Seladin 1 has an anti-apoptotic function by reducing caspase 3 activity during oxidative stress-induced apoptosis and protecting cells against amyloid-beta peptide-induced apoptosis. Several studies have identified a reduction in expression levels of this enzyme in brain regions affected by Alzheimer's disease (hippocampus and the subventricular zone).

VALIDATION IMAGES

Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (rat adrenal gland); Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with (Seladin 1) Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-5390R) at 1:200 overnight at 4°C, followed by operating according to SP Kit(Rabbit) (sp-0023) instructionsand DAB staining.
